The salary for this role will be £75-80 per day, depending on experience and this is a full-time role, term time only.

About the School:

This is an "outstanding" school and Tradewind has assisted them with staffing for many years. The school has children from a broad range of backgrounds with many home languages.
There is a brilliant atmosphere here, with a dedicated Headteacher and senior management team, who run a truly fantastic school. The atmosphere at the school is calm but busy and children enjoy going to school.

The Role:

You will be working with a child in Year 1 who has Autism and quite significant additional needs, including speech and language. The child also has some behavioural needs, but these are due to his Autism. The child works in the classroom with a TA working alongside him and some time is spent together away from the class working on focussed areas. He has his own curriculum, which is planned by the Sendco and class teacher, and you will be working on this together, adapting it when required.
The child has some sensory needs and the school has set up an area that he visits when he needs to.
Occasionally, he can get frustrated and he needs someone firm but fair, consistent, and patient and you should be a very good communicator.

This will be an interesting, rewarding role for someone with experience of working with autistic children and you will be part of a hard-working, dedicated and focussed team. Please note that you must have experience working with children with Autism (ASC) in a school setting is essential.

*Ideally hold a teaching assistant qualification
*Have previous experience working with children with Autism (ASC), in a primary school setting
*Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
*Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and employment breaks must be explained
*Have the legal right to work in the UK
