SEN Teaching Assistant

Do you have a passion for supporting children with additional needs? Are you looking for a full-time/long-term role starting in September?

Tradewind has a fantastic opportunity to work within a fantastic lower school based in Bedford. You will be responsible for supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis with additional needs. You do not necessarily need School based experience; however, you must have supported children with SEN and at a primary age.

***Learning Support Assistant position (Full-time/Long-term)

***Supporting pupils with additional needs (Autism) on a 1:1 basis

***£70 to £80 per day

The School is friendly, has a nurturing ethos and is situated in Flitwick (Bedfordshire). They are looking for a passionate and conscientious LSA who can join their outstanding team. You will be supporting children within KS1 and work closely with the SENCO/Class Teacher.

Criteria:

• Experience of working with Pupils with SEND (ideally pupils with ASD)
• Degree Qualified or an NVQ L3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• An approachable and resilient attitude
• Knowledge of communication programmes such as Makaton and Pecs
• Experience and knowledge of the autistic spectrum
• A passion for supporting children with additional needs
• A willingness to try different approaches to enhance learning
• Strong Numeracy and Literacy skills
• Able to start from September and interview now

If successful, you will initially work through Tradewind and transition onto the Schools contract at a later date once you have successfully completed a probation period. The School is extremely supportive and can help every member of staff progress further.
