Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting for a primary school in Enfield borough, North London, which is seeking a Special Needs Assistant to joining the team in September, until July 2021 at least. The salary for this role will be £75-80 per day, depending on experience and this is a full-time role, term time only.

The role will involve working 1:1 with a child in Year 6, who has an EHCP. The pupil has high needs Autism and was making good progress in Year 5 before lockdown. He is verbal and his behaviour is much more controlled now but on occasions, he still needs to take time out of the classroom when things become overwhelming for him. He responds well to someone with him who is calm and patient. He is very interested in drawing cartoons and is also very good with computer coding so these are useful methods to encourage and engage him.

To join us and be successful in this Special Needs Teaching Assistant role, you will need to:
*Ideally hold a teaching assistant qualification
*Be calm, patient and perseverent
*Have previous experience working with children with Autism, in a primary school setting
*Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
*Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and employment breaks must be explained
*Have the legal right to work in the UK
