The role will continue until at least July 2021.
The school is seeking an experienced teaching assistant, who has a strong background of working with children with special educational needs.

You will be working with three children through the day, working 1:1 with each. The first child in the morning has cerebral palsy and mobility issues and is delightful to work. The second child in the morning has ADHD and who requires a focus on raising his self-esteem and literacy levels. In the afternoon, you will be working with a child with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and can have challenging behaviour. He has a particular interest in sport and this has proven to be a very good way to engage with him.

The children spend most of their day in class and the school wants to encourage this further.

You should have a passion for working with children with additional needs and be able to use strategies to help children with their development. You should be engaging, calm, determined and consistent in your approach and be able to work flexibly.

Good communication skills are needed, as you will be dealing with a range of people throughout the day. Experience of doing physiotherapy sessions would be helpful, although training will be given.
This is a full-time role and the hours of work will be 8.30am- 3:45pm with 30 minutes for lunch, with a daily rate of £70- £80, depending on experience.
The school is well served by public transport.
