SEN Teaching Assistant
SEN Teaching Assistant
Working one-to-one with a young boy in year 3 with high functioning ASD. The boy is verbal but needs help with some means of communication - they work with PECS so that is a requirement of the candidate. The boy is very nice and well-mannered but does get frustrate when he doesn't understand the work that he's doing. Behaviour management is minimal but is required at times; the school has procedures in place to deal with outbursts.
The school is a mainstream primary school, based in Hammersmith and Fulham supporting around 240 students aged 3-11 years. They had their most recent OFSTED inspection in April 2018 and received a GOOD rating.
Feedback about this primary school is exceptionally positive with many staff also highlighting how great the Head Teacher is to work with. Moreover, the head has gained a phenomenal reputation during his time in education and is taking this school from strength to strength. He is very supportive of his staff and leads by example, creating a lovely school culture and environment for students and staff alike.
