Receiving an OFSTED rated Outstanding award in January, this is an opportunity to work as a Teaching Assistant in a thriving and high performing team achieving great results with their pupils. The school provides in depth training for candidates who are new to working in a school setting.

The Teaching Assistant will be working in a specialist school based in Hillingdon. Close to Northwood station, this is a school for blind and partially sighted children with significant learning difficulties and disabilities. The school has around 50 pupils aged 2 to 14. The needs supported at this school include: vision impairment, multi-sensory impairment, learning difficulties and disabilities, physical disabilities, communication difficulties as well as additional medical and health needs. We are looking for candidates experienced with health care support. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting people with physical disabilities and medical needs.

The ideal candidate will be confident to provide this high level of care and a confident and capable TA, knowledgeable about VI support, manual handling and personal cares. Experience working in Vision Impaired settings is highly desired but not essential. You will be working in a classroom-based setting alongside a class teacher and other Teaching Assistants.

The school is set in a lovely green space in Hillingdon, flooded with light and with a central garden. It is a lovely setting to work in and all staff who have been their previously have enjoyed their time at the school.

The Teaching Assistant would:
*Have a background in Health Care or have worked as a Health Care Assistant
*Have SEN experience in a school setting (desired but not essential)
*The ability to be able to manage complex needs and PMLD
*Be comfortable with personal cares and manual handling
*Differentiate lessons to suit the needs and abilities of learners in the class
