We are looking for highly competent and physically fit Teaching Assistants to work in a specialist SEN school.

This is a school for blind and partially sighted children with significant learning difficulties and disabilities. The school has around 50 pupils aged 2 to 14. The needs supported at this school include: vision impairment, multi-sensory impairment, learning difficulties and disabilities, physical disabilities, communication difficulties as well as additional medical and health needs. This school invest in their staff and full training will be provided to ensure you are well supported and feeling confident to support the needs of the students. The ideal candidate will have a background in health care and/or experience working in a Special School supporting PMLD students.

The school are shortlisting candidates now. The hiring process involves an initial interview with the head teacher and tour of the school. Successful candidates will then be invited for a full paid trial day to get a feel for the school and ensure you are able to perform the role.

The right candidate will be:
*Physically fit and able to support pupils with physical disabilities
*Experienced with hoisting and manual handling (training will be provided)
*Comfortable supporting PMLD students with a high level of need
*Be comfortable with personal cares, feeding and medication
*Differentiate lessons to suit the needs and abilities of learners in the class
