I'm currently recruiting for full time and part time Teaching Assistants to work with this OFSTED rated Outstanding School in Hillingdon. Close to Hillingdon hospital, the school is easily reached by bus and there is free car parking on site.

The school supports pupils aged 11-19 years old with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism (ASC) and Profound and Multiple Learning difficulties (PMLD). Teaching at the school follows a semi-formal curriculum with most students working within P Levels 1-8. Most class teachers will be planning lessons according to EYF and Primary foundations of learning.

To work in this school, a genuine understanding of severe and profound learning difficulties is essential. The school are looking for exceptional staff, keen to fully immerse themselves in the daily running of a special school. As a very specialised school with a huge focus on individualised support, there are only 70 pupils on the roll. Each class contains a maximum of eight or nine students. Student to staff ratios are very high, with one class teacher and about 4 experienced Teaching Assistants in each room. Personal cares are required to be performed by all staff and it's essential that you are confident and comfortable to do this with a level of sensitivity to maintain the dignity of the students you are supporting.

If you value working with an inspirational team and find reward in supporting students who require a high level of care, this is the role for you. You will have the support of an incredible multidisciplinary who partner regularly with teaching team to create educational and support plans for each student. This team includes Creative Therapists, Occupational Therapists, a Physiotherapist and an educational psychologist.

For the right person who wishes to join the school long term, there are incredible development opportunities through this school as they have the support of a large academy trust, with many other SEN schools under the academy umbrella. The trust places an emphasis on employing passionate staff who take pride in delivering exemplary support and educational opportunities to SEN students.

The Teaching Assistant would:
*Work with a class of 8 students with SEN needs
*Have strong differentiation skills to be able to meet individual learners needs
*Be confident using a range of visual and non-verbal strategies to support communication
*Have a strong understanding of EHCPs and each students' needs
*Work alongside 2-3 other classroom Teaching Assistants and a class Teacher
*Collaborate regularly with the multi-disciplinary therapy team
*Be experienced with PMLD and SLD, ideally within an SEN School setting

The school has:
*Been OFSTED rated Outstanding
*Around 70 pupils aged 11-19 years old
*Purpose built spaces for students with PMLD, Autism and multisensory needs
*An excellent ICT provision with touch computers and access to tablets for most pupils
*Hydrotherapy pool and hoist
*An extremely well-staffed SEN provision with Creative Therapists, Occupational Therapists, an educational psychologist and a physiotherapist.

To join us and be successful in this Teaching role you will need to:
*Hold an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
*You must have the legal right to work in the UK
