Job Duties:

• Provide support and assistance to students with special educational needs (SEN) in a classroom setting
• Work closely with the class teacher to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure students' progress
• Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
• Help students with their academic and social development, including personal care tasks when required
• Support students during class activities, ensuring their participation and engagement
• Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance
• Monitor and record students' progress, highlighting any concerns to the class teacher
• Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists or occupational therapists, to support students' specific needs
• Assist in the preparation of learning materials and resources
• Supervise students during break times and outings, ensuring their safety and well-being

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience or training in supporting individuals with special educational needs
• Knowledge of different learning strategies and techniques
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build rapport with students and establish positive relationships
• Patience, empathy, and understanding towards students with diverse needs
• Organisational skills to assist in preparing learning materials and maintaining records
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing needs and situations
