COVID-19 notice: We're continuing to recruit education staff throughout these unprecedented times, as we can still get you registered and cleared ready for when schools re-open. Instead of face-to-face meetings, all interviews will be via phone and we can guide you through submitting your documents online.

Tradewind are currently recruiting for a mainstream Secondary Academy provision located in Hull who are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to support their students in the new academic year. This role is suitable for both full-time and part-time candidates as the school will tailor the work to suit your needs. However, you must be able to arrive at school for 9:00am at the latest and be able to stay until 3:15pm. The school will provide access to a wealth of training and resources, so experience with SEN students is not a necessity. The role will last at least for one term (until January 2021) but may last longer.

Ideally we are looking for someone who has experience of supporting SEN within a school setting or similar such as care-work or support work setting. A Teaching Assistant qualification is not necessary however some experience with children and young adults is essential. We are looking to work with confident behaviour managers and flexible practitioners, who feel confident covering a range of year groups and needs. The school caters for a range of needs such as Autism, ADHD, Aspergers, PMLD, VI, HI and Complex Needs. Depending on previous experience will determine which student you will placed within.

Payment for this position will be between £60.00 and £80 per day depending on experience and qualifications. This is in line with a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Salary.

The role:

* Supporting students to access the curriculum
* Developing curricular knowledge as required by the school
*Working with other members of the school team to ensure that the children are accessing the best education and care
* Abiding by and work towards all the policies within the school e.g. behaviour management, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities
* Carrying out the above duties in accordance with the Children's Services

The school itself is modernised and on a large site. The school caters for studnets from Year 7-Year 11. The school liaise a with the local community and do sometimes share their facilities with other settings in the area. They are a well respected school and do hold high standards for all that work there. The school does have access to on site parking but is also available on public transport. Please note the parking is first come, first served however there is plenty of free on street parking across from the school too.

The ideal candidate will therefore:
*Be hardworking and friendly
*Have a passion for supporting students with varying needs
*Be flexible and adaptable
*Be willing to undergo training if necessary

To join us and be successful in this SEN Teaching Assistant role you will need to:
Hold some care or teaching assistant qualification (ideally Level 2 or 3)
Have some recent and relevant experience of supporting SEN students
This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
