To be considered for this post, you must have some level of teaching assistant experience, working with students who have special educational needs or be a graduate of a related subject.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working within small classes of either KS1, KS2 or KS3 students supporting those with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) and other SEN. This school in Camden are looking for a nurturing, resilient and determined individual who is passionate about providing opportunities for these children. Your role will be to encourage the pupils to engage in learning as well as building their life skills, as well as help them with their daily activities which include: preparing meals, personal care and accompanying them within the local community.

• Your role as a Support Worker will be:
• Provide day to day support, delivering 1:1, paired and small group teaching, and learner sessions
• Supervise and support community-based learning and educational visits
• Help to plan lessons by preparing materials and resources
• Working with key pupils to help develop their personal plans and aspirations
• Supporting pupils to develop crucial life skills to help them thrive.
• You will be well organised, have good planning skills, have experience of working with children and young people with autism using a behavioural approach, a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Above all, you will also need the physical and emotional resilience to work with young people who often present behaviours that challenge.
• Experience of PECS, SCERTS, Phonics, TEACHH curriculum will be helpful to support students throughout the day
