Are you a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant?

Do you believe all children, no matter their obstacles, should have an equal chance to learn and develop?

I am delighted to be working with a fantastic, OFSTED 'Outstanding' primary Special School in south Manchester, who are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to start ASAP on a full time and long term basis with the potential to turn in to a permanent contract. Pay up to £75/day.

You will be required to support pupils on 1:1 basis as well as in small groups. Due to the nature of the children you may need to support with personal care and Moving & Handling as well as learning, behaviour and emotional support.

The school caters for over 100 children aged 2 to 11 who have Severe Learning Disabilities SLD, Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities PMLD, Autism ASC, Complex Needs, Sensory Needs, Hearing & Visual Impairment, Speech and Language Communication Difficulties.

The curriculum is based on P-Scales which focus on personalised learning to meet the needs of each individual child. The work is highly differentiated by teachers and supported by their SEN Teaching Assistant. They promote purposeful play to encourage active learning and progression and as such they have a multitude of amazing facilities and technology including play rooms, sensory rooms and therapy rooms. Children in upper age groups focus on P7-8 as well as lower sections of the national curriculum which includes basic Maths, English & Science.

The school has a unique family feel and atmosphere. It is a superb environment to learn and the children are given every support and resource possible to provide the best education they can for them. The staff are incredibly loyal and proud to work there which makes this a wonderful opportunity to develop skills and passion for SEN and provides a terrific possibility for a successful career.
