Experienced SEN teaching assistant needed for primary school in Ilford, Redbridge. November/December 2020 start!

This is a brilliant opportunity for a SEN TA who is looking for a long term role for the year and would like to join progressive, caring, outstanding school!

Tradewind Recruitment is working on behalf of this wonderful primary school to recruit a new member of their support staff team and work with children who have additional learning and communication needs.

This SEN teaching assistant role is full time, five days per week and is due to start in September 2020 for the full academic year 2020/2021. The hours are 8.30am-4pm.

The school:
This is a wonderful, inspiring two form entry school is located in a state of the art building with lots of space for children to play, and groups to work harmoniously around the school. The leadership team and staff within the school aim to give children the very best opportunities for their future and there are high expectations for children, as well as an ethos that supports children to meet their individual dreams. The leadership team are continually striving to improve and adapt in the best way for pupils and staff are highly valued.

The role:
You will be supporting two children with special needs in the school as well as supporting across your designated classroom. You will work closely with the class teachers in your team and the senior leadership team to provide outstanding care and education to children. The headteacher and Senco are ideally looking for someone who is experienced and feels confident in their strategies to communicate with children who find communication difficult. If you have experience with PECS, Makaton, speech and language, this would be highly desirable!

Essential requirement:
You will have experience working with children who have special needs or learning difficulties.
Must be passionate about education
Proven to be confident, responsive and adaptable in your approach with children
Demonstrate commitment and good work ethic
Have knowledge and experience delivering the national curriculum to pupils at primary age.
Knowledge communication strategies such as PECS and Makaton.
