SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity as a Teaching Assistant within a special educational needs school in Trafford?
Do you have experience working with children with SEN?
Do you have a true passion for supporting SEN pupils?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for Teaching Assistants who would like to work in a primary special needs school in Trafford. This role is to start as soon as possible and is full time, likely to continue until July.

This Trafford School caters for 4-11 with a wide range of needs, from moderate to complex with specialisms in cognition and learning, communication and interaction, physical and sensory and children with complex medical conditions.

enriched multi-sensory learning and ensure that our children develop their social interactions and relationship-building skills. We promote full inclusivity across the school and maximise high quality teaching in class. We also provide the children with sanctuary-bases for withdrawal time and learning bays for bespoke intervention work. Reading is an integral part of our school life and we provide appropriate reading resources which are accessible to all our learners, including non-verbal children.

The school is highly renowned within the local area and the students genuinely enjoy going into school every day. Due to the nature the school, they are looking for specialist teaching assistants who have previous experience working in an SEN school.
This role is to start as soon as possible and is full time, likely to continue until July.

The ideal candidate will need the following skills:
*Good behaviour management skills
*Experience of working with students with ASD, PMLD and SLD in a SEN or care setting
*Team Teach Trained is desirable
*Adaptable across subjects and a good general curriculum knowledge
*Patient and nurturing mannerism
*Be enthusiastic and willing to be 'hands on' in and out of the classroom.
*Good sense of humour, approachable and flexible

The role:
*Supporting students on a 1:1 and group basis
*Lead intervention sessions on 1:1 basis or for small groups
*Working collaboratively with class teacher
*A strong, supportive and highly experienced leadership team and governing body
*A good understanding of differentiation and behaviour management

There is also plenty of on-site parking is available.
The school has fantastic facilities for their students to enjoy including a recently refurbished hydrotherapy pool, rebound therapy, sensory room, soft play and art room.

*This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
*You must have the legal right to work in the UK
