SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you a Teaching Assistant with SEN experience looking for an immediate opportunity in Wigan?

Tradewind is working with a 'Good' Wigan Primary school to recruit an experienced Level 2 or 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a range of pupils with complex and additional needs. This full-time position is to start immediately and is ongoing until July 2020.

This role is within a one-form entry community Primary School, this schools ambition is to build the confidence, resilience and drive that helps children grow into happy, successful, and passionate. The school is passionate in providing a broad and balanced creative curriculum. We are seeking a hardworking and motivated Teaching Assistant to join their team of committed and experienced professionals. The ideal candidate for this role has a Level 2 or 3 Qualification who has had a minimum of 12 months supporting pupils with SEN.

The successful candidate will be required to support the class teacher with planning for activities and lesson's and liaise with the SENDCO when appropriate. In addition, you will also be required to provide 1:1 and small group support for pupil with complex and additional needs. You must also have an enthusiastic and positive approach to teaching and learning, as well as the ability to quickly build up strong relationships and rapport with individual children is important.

The School is in Wigan and is easily accessible via public transport and is close to motorway links.

*Excellent communication and behaviour management techniques
*Confidence in dealing with Specific Learning Needs
*Experience with supporting SEND
*Be able to confidently work as part of the team and independently
