The SENCo of this brilliant, high achieving school in the heart of West Drayton are keen to appoint an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a year 2 pupil who has PWS. The role requires you to have confidence, clear commutation skills as well as a dynamic, professional approach to working with children with additional needs. You must be committed for the academic year and demonstrate an interest in developing your career in education, more over within Special Needs.

The child has a genetic disorder due to loss of function within genes. The pupil may have weak muscles, poor feeding skills and may also have slow development skills. The developmental disorder affects many parts of the body. The child has mild to moderate intellectual disability and therefore you as a teaching assistant will be needed to ensure the pupil is within a safe and secure environment. Providing 1:1 support for the pupil to ensure they are accessing the national curriculum as well as liaising with both parents and the senior leadership team.

The role will involve

*General classroom support a pupil with Prader-Willi Syndrome.
*Work alongside the KS1 team to plan and prepare engaging, fun sessions for small groups of learners that need additional support
*Firm but fair and calm behaviour management

The teaching assistant roles are full time, 5 days' week and will be due to start in January 2020 to continue for the full academic year.

you must;

*Have previous experience working in a primary school setting.
*Be a team player - this role requires someone who works well with teachers, pupils and parents
*Demonstrate commitment, dedication and resilience in your previous childcare work
*have an ability to manage sometimes challenging behaviour
*Ideally you will be local to West Drayton
