*SEND Teaching Assistant
*Barnet borough
*Lovely primary school with a great reputation and dedicated leadership team

The school is seeking a calm, patient teaching assistant to work with a Year 2 pupil, who is autistic.

He has an EHCP and quite complex needs with some speech and language needs, although he is increasingly verbal. He takes part in lessons with the rest of the class for most of the day, although time will be spent working 1:1 to develop his social skills as well as working on basic literacy and numeracy, as he has his own curriculum. He is very visual and experience with PECS would be useful. On occasions, he can become frustrated and agitated but responds well to being distracted, or by spending some time out on other activities. You will need to be a good communicator as you will be feeding back progress regularly to his parents and working closely with the class teacher and Sendco.

Your hours of work will be 8.30am- 3.45pm with 30minutes for lunch, with a daily rate of £70- £80, depending on experience.

The school has good transport links and parking available within a short walk away.

This is a very interesting opportunity in a great school with a lovely team.
