SENCo Person Specification

This position would suit a hard working proven practitioner looking to take on increased responsibility, or a current accomplished SENCo who has more to offer within this role. You will be able to lead on data assessment and school policy, relaying accurately your findings at SLT meetings. The school wants to recruit someone who has a sense of community within the school and the ability to develop colleagues' teaching. You should have a close working relationship with the Headteacher and the flexibility to adapt to your new environment. You should have a proficient working knowledge of EHCPs and the new SEN code of practice.

You will be someone who either has the National SENCo qualification, are working towards it or have relevant experience.

About the SENCo Role

As SENCo your role will involve you taking responsibility for SEN learning throughout the school and you will be keeping parents informed about their child's progress. Working successfully alongside external agencies will be a crucial element to your role to ensure that children make sufficient progress and achieve their full potential. The SEN team's resources include many tools designed specifically to help those with SEN, as a leader you must be able to manage the correct use of each of these exciting tools.

To join us and be successful in this SENCo role you will need to:
Hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualifications.
This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable and professional reference checks.
Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history, where possible, and any employment breaks must be explained.
You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
