If you are experienced or new to the SENDCo role, I would like to hear from you. I'm working with a large mainstream Secondary school based in Hillingdon, who have consistently achieved incredible results with their SEN student cohort and are now looking for an engaging and dynamic SENDCo to lead their SEND team.

To start in January, this SENDCo role will involve working across the school. With a population of over 1400 students, you will be supported by a specialist SEND team. There is a dedicated SEND provision specialist and programme manager, Literacy and EAL Coordinators and a team of HLTA's and LSA's.
Year 7 and 8 classes are taught by maths and English specialists with primary training and SEND teachers are also present in other subject classes to support SEN learners. The school has a high proportion of EAL pupils, all of which are supported by a specialist programme under the EAL Coordinator. SALT, LUCID and Access arrangements testing are also run by the team.

The school is incredibly diverse and places a strong emphasis on pastoral support. Across the school, student's academic achievement is consistently in line with and above the national average, placing this school in the top 10% of schools within the country.

SEND is considered a key component of the schools ethos in terms of inclusion and academic achievement. The SEND department is exceptionally well resourced and the specialist staff work alongside pupils to ensure they boosting pupils confidence as well as academic achievement. The team here are very passionate about being ambitious and aspirational, working hard to increase pupils academic and future life opportunities.


The SENDCo will:
*Uphold the outstanding provision of SEN support for pupils across the mainstream Secondary School
*Be responsible for managing a large SEND team of including: Curriculum Lead for KS3 SEN Provision, EAL Coordinator, Literacy Co-ordinator, SEND Provision Specialist, HLTA's and LSA's.
*Be an aspirational individual who aligns with the schools core ethos of creating brighter futures for each pupil
*Have a strong ability for strategic thinking, leadership and team management
*Be supported by the schools high quality professional development programme
