Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting the most vulnerable children in our society? Would you like to join a specialist SEND school as a SEND Teaching Assistant? Do you have a care worker background and are looking to transition into the education sector?

SANZA Teaching Agency is currently working with a specialist SEND school based in the borough of Wandsworth currently looking for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to work with one of their wonderful primary classes on a full time basis. This is a specialist school so you will have all the resources and support required. There are some personal care duties involved with this position as the children are wheelchair bound but a trained member of staff will be responsible for this. There are also some hoisting duties involved as the children are in wheel chairs. This position is due to start immediately and on a full-time basis until the end of the 2023/24 academic year with an opportunity for a permanent contract for September 2024. The position of SEND Teaching Assistant is paying a daily rate of £80.00 to £95.00 per day. As an SEND Teaching Assistant in this school your role will be to work with a key stage 3 boy who is hearing impaired on a 1:1 basis. You will support this student in making regular progress and promote positive behaviour.

To be shortlisted for this SEND Teaching Assistant role, you will need to have:

  • SEND Experience working with physical disabilities.
  • Passionate about supporting children with SEND
  • Good organisation skills
  • Literacy and numeracy skills
  • Patient with a sense of humour
  • Confident in working independently or in a group setting
