Tradewind Recruitment are working with an independent SEN school in Hackbridge, Sutton. They are seeking a Fulltime Teacher to join the team from September.
It is a specialist provision for SEMH, they follow the national curriculum and are an Ofsted Good Provision with outstanding features. By incorporating the National Curriculum within cross curricular, topic-based learning, the school's curriculum seeks to equip the children with the skills and knowledge to be successful adults in the future.
There are daily lessons in Maths, English and Reading alongside weekly carousel activities that include Science, PE, Art, Computing, Topic, Cooking, Drama, PSHE, SEMH, Music and Personal Development. For this reason, they follow a Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) scheme of work developed by the team of therapists that seeks to empower children to take responsibility for their own mental health. The Personal Development lessons educate children on relevant topics such as gender inequality, careers aspirations, human rights and social injustice.
Essential requirements:
-QTS, qualified teacher status.
-Experience planning and teaching lessons to primary aged students following the National Curriculum.
-Experience with SEN, specifically autism, both verbal and non-verbal and other speech, language and communication needs.
-Experience supporting young people with special educational needs, specifically Social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
-Enthusiastic, resilient and positive approach.
-Must have legal right to work in the UK.
