General SEND Teacher - Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (KS3)

Location: Formby, Sefton

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced General SEND Teacher to join a dynamic team at a Secondary Pupil Referral Unit in Formby, supporting Key Stage 3 students. The school offers full-time statutory education for young people from Year 7 to Year 11 who, due to various reasons, are unable to access mainstream schooling.

Situated in Formby, our client school plays a crucial role in supporting all mainstream schools in Sefton, including Academies and Free Schools. The institution is committed to reducing permanent exclusions by providing an alternative curriculum tailored to meet the needs of pupils who thrive in a more practical learning environment, requiring individualised support to unlock their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons to Key Stage 3 students in a supportive and inclusive manner.
  • Provide individualised support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to the diverse needs of the students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to assess and track student progress, ensuring effective communication with parents and guardians.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school's SEND policies.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with students with SEND in a similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of the diverse needs of Key Stage 3 students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles.
