Are you a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant seeking an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and young people with severe and profound learning difficulties? Look no further! Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a dynamic SEND TA to join our outstanding special school in Kirkham.

About the School:

The school caters to children and young people aged 2-19 with severe and profound multiple learning difficulties. Nestled in the heart of Kirkham, their state-of-the-art facilities include a sensory studio, swing therapy area, and a warm water pool. They have an intensive support facility, which focuses on pupils with complex needs, autism, and challenging behaviour.

Position Overview:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with challenging behaviour resulting from additional needs. You will be based in the room designed for pupils with challenging behaviour and complex needs, providing assistance and guidance to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement tailored strategies for students with challenging behaviour.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support as required.
  • Assist in the utilisation of facilities such as the sensory studio, swing therapy, and warm water pool to enhance the learning experience.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly within special education settings.
  • Understanding and empathy for pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

Daily Rate of Pay: £78 - £90 per day

Start Date: February 2024
