Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of brilliant Special School in Walsall who are looking to recruit an passionate Teaching Assistant to support a pupil on a one to one basis with autism to start in September until the end of the academic year 2021. This is a full-time role with a competitive daily rate.

About the school

We are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant with a passion to support pupils with additional needs for a school situated in the centre of Walsall. The school is a very diverse school with children from a wide variety backgrounds and abilities.

The headteacher provides strong, clear leadership. She has high ambitions for the school and equally high expectations of all staff. Teamwork is strong across the school and everybody works together, is involved and accountable. Behaviour in the school is good, and students are respectful of each other and of the adults in the school.

The school has an onsite secure car park and easy to travel to with brilliant public transport routes from Birmingham and Wolverhampton.

About the role

This special school is looking for an SEND Teaching Assistant to work within their KS1 phase to support a pupil on a 1:1 basis with autism. The successful candidate must have excellent behaviour management, patience and have prior experience of supporting in a similar rol.

The role itself will involve working alongside to the teacher and phase leader to ensure the pupil is receving both academic and emotioanl support that they need. Prior to starting, you will meet with the pupil, parents and the class teacher to look through the EHCP to ensure you are equipped with the right tools.

*Hold a Level 3 Qualification
*Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
*Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and employment breaks must be explained
*Have the legal right to work in the UK
