Tradewind are currently recruiting for a Teacher of Sociology, for a long term role!

Tradewind are working with an excellent College in Hull, who are looking for an outstanding Sociology teacher, who can join their extremely successful department, on a part time basis, starting in January 2021. This vacancy is due to a vacancy within the Social Science department, therefore it could become a permanent position in the future. This position is guaranteed to last until Easter 2021, but will most likely last until Summer 2021, before a permanent appointment will be made. In terms of payment, this will be scaled to the Main Teaching Pay Scale. This is a 0.5 timetable, and will be split across 2 full days and 1 half day, with the days being flexible.

This college is extremely high achieving, and has an extremely popular Social Sciences department. With many students picking Social Sciences for their First Year, and continuing into their Second Year, you will be joining a cohesive department with a wealth of excellent resources being available. Planning will be minimal because of this, making it an extremely desirable place to come and work. While this is a part time vacancy, which works best for somebody with a flexible schedule, there may be potential to improve these hours with other cover, or other Social Sciences cover. We have worked with the College for a number of years, and are extremely proud to be working so closely with such an excellent educational provider. The College has extremely eager students, who are enthusiastic and willing to learn.

In terms of your teaching timetable, you will be teaching A Level Sociology, to both first and second year students. For this reason, we are looking for a true Sociology specialist, who has experience teaching A level Sociology to high achieving students. If you have the ability to teach another social science, then this could be an advantage.
The role:
*Teaching Key Stage 5 Sociology
*Planning and marking in line with the national curriculum
*Working within the social sciences team to create high quality resources for the students

We are looking for a teacher with effective subject knowledge, and an eagerness to provide an excellent quality of education. You will be working with an excellent head of department who is willing to work hard to help develop staff members. Essential requirements:
A teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent)
All work with Tradewind requires a DBS on the update service, and collection of at least two verified references.
