Tradewind are currently recruiting for a Sociology Teacher to work in one in a St Albans rated "Good" school starting in September 2020 covering an ongoing post with the view to becoming a permanent member of staff for the right teacher. This is a full time or part time (.8) offering a competitive MPS salary with full teaching responsibilities.
Rated "Good" in 2018 noting that relationships are exceptionally positive and characterised by mutual respect" Pupils here enjoy a broad spectrum of school based activities and extracurricular events enabling students to enjoy all aspects of school life. Leadership was also praised for "acting robustly and effectively". This school has a huge focus on staff well-being and mental health to ensure every teacher and staff member is able to work confidently and freely within their capabilities to provide a positive and supportive learning environment for their pupils.
This post will involve teaching Sociology across Key stage 5 initially as a new subject for the school, class sizes are no more than 16 and teaching or covering a second subject is also desirable over year 1. Year 2 will see the introduction of Key stage 4 pupils as the subject continues to grow in popularity. This is a superbly run faculty and organised school offering teachers a stable work / life balance and the chance to truly focus on your teaching and career. Delivering Sociology and assisting with cover in Humanities (or a second subject) across Key Stages 4 and 5 you'll be part of the staff team from day one with your own laptop, classroom and access to the schools superb facilities. The post is for a full or part time teaching position with full responsibilities. This role is best suited to a pragmatic, engaging and committed teacher. Extra-curricular activities, clubs and school trips are all part of the schools approach to a balanced learning environment for their pupils.
Behaviour of the pupils is Outstanding, wanting to learn and achieve the school sets high, yet achievable expectations for them and as a result offer some of the countries best results across GCSE's and A Levels.
