Tradewind are recruiting for a brilliant Special Needs Assistant to start in December 2020!

A wonderfully vibrant two form entry primary school in Bruce Grove, Haringey require a special needs assistant to support a pupil in year 1 who has special educational needs. The school are looking to appoint an experienced special needs assistant/SEN TA who has previous experience working in KS1 and will be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge and understanding of 1-1 support for children with Autism. You will need to hit the ground running so experience is a MUST!

The role is full time (Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4pm) and will commence at the beginning of December for the academic year until July at the earliest.

You will need to demonstrate a calm, assertive, nurturing approach and will ideally have experience working in KS1. If you have phonics, Makaton, PECS, Visual timetables experience this is highly desirable!

The role:

The role will involve supporting a pupil in the year 1 class who has Autism and needs help with communication and language development. You will support the pupil in the classroom with his communication social skills and will use sensory play, now and next boards and visual aids to assist him throughout the day.

The school is looking for a Special Needs Assistant who:

*Can demonstrate at least one years' experience in a KS1 classroom
*May have a background in Psychology, special needs
*Will have experience supporting children with special needs on a 1-1 basis
*Will ideally have Phonics, Makaton, PECS, Visual timetables experience
*Has an engaging, calm, assertive approach
*Will be able to aid language development and communication skills
*Able to show initiative, maturity and enthusiasm in situations, and work well in a team.
