SANZA Teaching Agency are seeking a special needs teaching assistant to work in a wonderful special needs school in Ealing. The role will be to work with students in sixth form.

The role is to start ASAP and is full-time.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

The school caters to students aged from Reception to Year 14 who have moderate to severe and complex learning difficulties as a primary need or as a dual diagnosis to their medical, sensory and/or physical needs.   

The school prides itself on a warm and supportive staff environment where teachers always work in collaboration and as a team. The school is an innovative and fun place for students to learn and thrive in a safe and supportive environment, where independence is prioritised.

The school also has a fabulous SEMH team, and behaviour mentors.   

ABOUT YOU

The school are seeking a strong, confident and caring teaching assistant who has a keen interest in making a difference to lives of young people. The ideal candidate will:

  • Be willing to work with challenging behaviour 
  • Being flexible and willing to take on all challenges 
  • Have experience in a school environment, ideally in a special needs setting

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE

  • Provide dedicated support in all academic classes, helping the student access learning materials and fully engage in discussions and activities. 
  • Collaborate with subject teachers to adapt lesson materials and ensure they are accessible to the visually impaired student. 
  • Assist the student during mobility transitions within the school premises, ensuring their safety and confidence. 
  • Encourage social interaction and facilitate the student's involvement in extracurricular activities and events. 
  • Work closely with the school's inclusion team to implement individualized strategies for the student's educational and personal development. 
  • Working with small groups of students  
  • Working one to one with students
