SANZA Teaching Agency is currently working exclusively with a new specialist provision for pupils with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) in the borough of Richmond who are currently looking for a caring Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6) to join their team for September 2020. This role is for a full academic year and is paying an annual salary of £28,050 and £40,644 (Band 6/7).
As a Speech and Language Therapist you are going to be part of a unique specialist school meeting the needs of children with speech, language and communication difficulties. This school caters for children and young people from the ages of 4 to 19 will be at the heart of an active learning community.
As the Lead Speech and Language Therapist you will be part of a multi-professional and highly skilled team who work collaboratively, developing personalised approaches to learning, ensuring that individual needs are met.
This school offers specialist language-focused environment with a collaborative, class-based approach to the delivery of speech and language therapy. They provide specialist teaching, speech & language and occupational therapies. Class sizes will be small and will enable learners to focus on a differentiated curriculum, including aspects of the national curriculum, designed to support their individual needs.
As a Lead Speech and Language Therapist, some of your responsibilities include:
*Supporting newly qualified SLTs and speech and language therapy assistants
*planning and deliver training sessions
*undertake clinical audit
*Leading on small group literacy intervention
*Advising carers on implementing a treatment programme and train other professionals in therapy delivery
*To make appropriate clinical decisions following specialist assessment, including recognising potential breakdown
*Provide a robust differential diagnosis, or strong evidence towards this for a wide range of difficulties; including Developmental Language Disorder, Language disorders, specific Speech Disorders and Social Communication Disorders
