Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with Emotional and Behavioural Disorders (EBD), including those with ASD and ADHD, who face challenges accessing mainstream education? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team in North Chesterfield.

Job Description:

As a Support Worker for our unit catering to children with EBD, you will play a vital role in helping these young individuals overcome barriers to their education and personal development. We are seeking individuals with a calm and patient demeanour, coupled with previous experience working with troubled youth. You will work in collaboration with a highly experienced team, providing the necessary support to foster a safe and nurturing environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support students with EBD, including those with ASD and ADHD, in their daily activities and learning processes.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages emotional and behavioural growth.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and professionals to create individualised plans for each student.
  • Encourage and implement positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Attend occasional after-school meetings to discuss student's progress and development.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with young people with Emotional and Behavioural Disorders.
  • A calm and patient demeanour to handle challenging situations.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to the unique needs of each student.
  • Team Teach qualification (beneficial but not essential).
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently.
  • A commitment to safeguarding the well-being of children.

Additional Information:

This position will initially be pay rolled through timesheets, offering you the flexibility to start. However, there is an opportunity for the right candidate to transition to a permanent contract with the school.

If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with EBD and are committed to helping them achieve their full potential, we encourage you to apply. Join our experienced team with a high staff-to-pupil ratio, and be a part of a supportive and nurturing environment.

How to Apply:

To apply for this position, please submit your resume outlining your relevant experience and why you are the ideal candidate for this role.
