Teacher of Design Technology

Maternity Cover - 1 Year contract

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Teacher of Design Technology for a happy and successful school near Lewisham with a clear mission and agreed beliefs that are shared across the school community. Design and Technology is a valued subject and is fully support by senior leaders. The department has recently undergone a significant renovation and learners and staff are fortunate to have extremely well-resourced facilities. Learners have access to a fully equipped workshop with a dedicated CAD/CAM suite comprising of 2 x laser cutters and 4 x 3D printers. The department is forward-thinking and they encourage the use of new technologies at GCSE. Design and Technology is a thriving subject and the school are constantly looking for new ideas to innovate our curriculum and ensure learners experience a relevant and modern curriculum.

All teaching staff have a generous allocation of non-contact time: typically 15%, which is significantly higher that the legal minimum requirement. This ensures that staff have the time to carry out their role to the highest possible standard, whilst having a genuine work-life balance.

This post is suitable for NQTs and experienced teachers. Applicants from candidates across the whole spectrum of Design Technology are welcomed.
To be successful in your Teacher of Design Technology application you will need to:
*Hold QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification.
*Have excellent knowledge of the Design Technology curriculum.
*This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure, Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained.
*You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
