An exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-qualified and highly effective Geography specialist to play a key role in helping the school to continue to engage pupils in Geography throughout KS3 and KS4,
This is a flourishing, high performing 11-18 girls' state school, which was graded 'Outstanding' in October 2016. It is one of the top 3% of schools in the country in terms of student progress.

Geography is an exciting subject at this school. The department uses a range of active teaching strategies to allow the students to develop an appreciation of a complex and dynamically changing world. There is a strong focus on cultural diversity throughout the study of these different geographical areas and themes.

In years 7, 8 and 9, Geography is taught in two timetabled lessons per week. It is taught in accordance with National Curriculum guidelines to develop the knowledge and skills students need to be successful in Geography at GCSE. Students study both physical and human Geography, as well as key aspects of the UK and different parts of the world through a range of investigations and on a variety of different scales that also involve fieldwork in the local area. Due to the high demands of content and concepts within Geography, some GCSE content is now delivered within Year 9.
