Tradewind Recruitment are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and talented teacher of Music to teach across all level of Music including A level. This client is a co-educational school for pupils aged 11 to 18 based in central London. Their most recent Ofsted inspection the once again achieved 'Outstanding' grading. All aspects of the school including 'pupil achievement', 'behaviour' and 'quality of teaching' were deemed 'outstanding'.

This client is an eight form entry, mixed, 11-19 comprehensive school situated in Bethnal Green, Tower Hamlets. In 2012 they were awarded Teaching School status and also received their second successive 'Outstanding' Ofsted grading. The last few years have seen many changes to the buildings and other resources. The entire school has been rebuilt or refurbished to a very high standard and we have been able to invest heavily in computers, books and other learning materials.

Tradewind are looking for a Music Teacher who is experienced teaching across Key Stage 3 to 5. They have a large and successful department and there will be an opportunity to be involved in curriculum development by working with others to plan for effective teaching and learning. They are looking for an experienced music teacher who is committed to inclusive education and raising aspiration and achievement. Evidence of highly effective teaching and learning practice, including curriculum development. A secure knowledge of current curriculum developments and approaches to teaching and learning, particularly those relating to Music. You will have an understanding of the purpose and use of assessment procedures, and an ability to maintain accurate records to track and support pupil progress. You will display a commitment to continuing professional development and collaborative working. You will also have a high level communication, administrative and organisational skills.

Students feel very safe and secure in school and are quite clear who to approach if they have concerns. Their behaviour in lessons and around the school is impeccable. Students have a very clear understanding of the targets they are aiming for and strive hard to achieve them. Morale is high. because teachers feel treated as professionals. They do not accept anything but the best from themselves and the students. They are committed to mixed ability teaching and recognise that to do this effectively the curriculum has to be planned carefully, ensuring progression, support and challenge.

The school is committed to creating an environment in which all pupils and staff are equally valued and respected. They are an extremely friendly school with excellent relationships and there is much importance placed on enhancing the school ethos outside the classroom. Parents and carers are encouraged to participate in the life of the school. A number of their ex-pupils return to act as academic mentors or to support pupils in lessons. There is an extensive programme of residential experiences and a wide range of lunchtime and after school activities, particularly in sport and music. Their aim is to enhance and enrich the basic curriculum through developing these extra-curricular opportunities and raising aspirations.

They have over 110 teaching staff, nearly 50 Teaching Assistants, Academic Mentors & Coaches and 60 other support staff who share a strong belief in what our pupils can achieve. The believe their pastoral system is a strength of the school and, wherever possible, our tutors remain with their class throughout their 5 years at the school and even into the sixth form when possible.

They have a strong belief in supporting CPD and work closely with a number of local schools as part of their Teaching School Alliance and through the Tower Hamlets Education Partnership.

Based in Central London this school is easily accessible form most areas of London. They are within walking distance from a local tube station and served with several bus routes.
