Tradewind Recruitment are seeking to appoint a passionate and well-qualified teacher of Religious Studies and Citizenship on a permanent basis to start in September 2021.

The school is a mixed, multi-ethnic 11-18 school, located near Croydon, that converted to Academy status in September 2010. They are a National Teaching School and SCITT. It was judged as "outstanding" in all categories by Ofsted in May 2008 and again in May 2013. The school is a member of a national collaborative trust of 240 schools committed to improving the quality of education across their network. CPD is an exceptional strength of this school.

All students in Key Stages 3 and 4 study Religious Studies and the subject is very popular at A level. GCSE and A level results are excellent: 85% of students achieved a grade 4 or higher in their 2019 GCSE exam. The RS department was judged 'good' in its last external review and is now focused on securing 'outstanding'. The post would be suitable for an NQT or experienced teacher.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach KS3 Religious Studies and Life Skills and KS4 Religious Studies and Citizenship.

The faculty has a strong team ethos and is well resourced and highly organised. Staff are based in rooms adjacent to each other, with each one having an interactive whiteboard and projector.

Career entry teachers have a 10% reduction in their timetable and a subject mentor. They also participate in a comprehensive induction programme led by an Assistant Headteacher and supported by the academy trust.

To be successful in this role you will need to:

• Be a Teacher of Religious Studies and Citizenship who holds QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Have excellent knowledge of the Religious Studies and Citizenship curriculum.
• This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure, Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
• Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained.
• You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
