An inclusive, inspiring 11-18 academy offering an outstanding learning environment in Croydon is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Science who shares their ethos of ensuring that every student achieves regardless of their starting point in life. They are looking to appoint on a 1 year contract, covering a period of maternity, beginning in January 2021.

Their mission is to ensure that "every student is prepared for university and every student can become a leader" and they pride themselves on the fact that they have consistently improved outcomes for all students over the past three years.

As a Teacher of Science, you will inspire pupils in the classroom by delivering innovative curricula and by giving them the confidence to think big for themselves as they progress through school life.

The Role and the Department
Science is highly valued and delivered throughout the curriculum each week from Year 7-9 (4 x one hour periods per week). In Year 9 pupils will select their GCSE option subjects and Triple Science is a popular choice with 62% of pupils selecting this over the combined award. The first class and fully equipped Science classrooms on offer provide the ideal environment for students to thrive and fulfil their potential.
The department specific Progress 8 score is +0.4 with over 41% of students going on to achieve the top grade 7-9 category.

To be successful in this role you will need to:
*Be a Teacher of Science who holds QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification.
*Have excellent knowledge of the Science curriculum.
*This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure, Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained.
*You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
