Tradewind are currently recruiting for a QTS qualified Teacher of the Deaf to work at a mainstream Secondary School in Hackney, East London.



This role is full time and long term, starting from January 2021 until the end of the academic year and will most likely become permanent for the right candidate.

This Mainstream Secondary School is located in the Inner London Borough of Hackney, who require an experienced and passionate Teacher of the Deaf. The School are a high achieving school who are passionate about the learning of all their students. The School are keen to develop and progress their staff for their self and career development



About the role:



As an experienced Teacher of the Deaf you must be able to deliver stimulating and engaging sensory lessons to small class of students with hearing impairment. To be successful for this role you will have the ability to inspire, engage and develop the sensory engagement and social skills of students within your class and also have experience of working on P Levels. In return, you will work within a well-resourced Department that is equipped with excellent modern facilities alongside a hard-working team which will ensure that you are supported at all times in an enriched and exciting environment.



You will be teaching using BSL across Key Stages 3 and 4 and providing high quality lesson content. You will also have help and support by 5 teaching assistants within the classroom.





Essential Requirements:



Have QTS/QTLS (Qualified Teacher Status)
Have a minimum qualification of BSL (British Sign Language) Level 2
Have previous teaching experience in a UK-based School of the Deaf or Hearing-Impaired provision.
Experience supporting young people with Hearing Impairment
Have the legal right to work in the UK.
