SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to present a rewarding role for an individual who is seeking a new opportunity as a teaching assistant working with SEN/SEND/Autism/ASD to join a dynamic 2-form entry primary school in Ealing.
This position involves supporting a pupil in year 2 with Autism (ASD) who is pre-verbal. The student is showing signs of speech development and would benefit greatly from a caring, committed teaching assistant who is able to further develop their speech, as well as assist with their social and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual support to the pupil with Autism (ASD) ensuring their safety and well-being
- Help implement and follow the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and behaviour management strategies
- Facilitate the child's communication and language development through a range of communication methods
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to plan and adapt activities to meet the pupil's specific needs
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for the pupil, promoting their social integration with peers
Requirements:
- Relevant experience supporting children with Autism (ASD) or similar special educational needs (SEN)
- Understanding of pre-verbal communication methods and strategies
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and the ability to adapt them to meet individual needs
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
