Graduate Teaching Assistants - Bury

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting 2 x Graduate Teaching Assistants for a Primary school in Bury, Greater Manchester. The Headteacher is keen to ensure staffing numbers are increased to assist and aid learning in all year groups and is starting by introducing graduate Teaching Assistants.

The positions are to start in September 2020 for the 2020- 2021 academic year, however the Headteacher would be open to a June 2020 start to assist with pupils returning after government lock down.

The ideal candidates for this position will have recently gained a degree, ideally in a core subject (Maths, English, Science), Psychology, Sport Science, History, Music or Geography. (Please feel free to get in touch if your degree is in another subject); and have the desire to go onto complete a teacher training programme within the next few years.

The position will consist of supporting classes on a whole, leading small group interventions and possibly some 1:1 support. You must be engaging, encouraging and know how to inspire learning for children.

The school is well led. The high aspirations and clear vision of senior leaders and governors have been instrumental in bringing about improvements to teaching and pupils' achievement since the last inspection. Pupils' achievement is good. From their individual starting points, all groups of pupils, including the most able, make at least good progress in reading, writing and mathematics.

Children get off to a good start in the early years provision where they thrive and rapidly develop new skills and knowledge. Teaching is good, this is because teachers and support staff have good professional knowledge. They relate to, and care for, all pupils and their families exceptionally well.

The School's aim is to work in partnership with parents to enable each child to reach its full potential. The staff encourage high expectations and work towards maximum progress for each and every-one of the schools' pupils.

Whilst the school bases its curriculum on the National Curriculum they offer a wide and exciting curriculum which aims to be engaging and stimulating for all our pupils. The headteacher encourages pupils to develop a love of learning, work with independence and resilience to prepare pupils for the key transition in the next stage of their educational journey.
