Tradewind Hull are working with one of our partnership schools in the East Riding of Yorkshire, who are in need of a teaching assistant, to start September, and work until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will be paid between £65.00 and £75.00 per day for this position, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a temporary position, but does have the potential to continue extending, depending on fudning.
The successful candidate will be working 1:1 with a looked after student, providing vital intervention for this student, helping to access and catch up on lost learning. You will also be providing valuable assistance in the emotional wellbeing to the student, something that the school are extremely invested in. Experience working in a similar 1:1 capacity is desirable for this role, as is experience in working with students who require additional support.
This is an excellent school with an ever growing reputation in the area. Student behaviour is good, with strong behaviour policies and procedures in place for teachers to follow. There is a large onsite car park for candidates who drive, which is free to use. The school is also accessible via public transport from most areas of Hull, with bus routes which will allow the successful candidate to arrive on time.
The role:
* Assisting the teacher in delivering work with the child
* Developing curricular knowledge as required by the school
* Undertaking observations of pupils and contributing to pupil records
* Abiding by and work towards all the policies within the school e.g. behaviour management, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities
* Carrying out the above duties in accordance with the Children's Services Department's Equal Opportunities Policy.
Essential requirements:
Experience working as a Teaching Assistant
Experience working with students who often display challenging behaviour
All work with Tradewind requires a DBS on the update service, and collection of at least two verified references.
