Tradewind are currently recruiting for a hardworking and experienced SEN teaching assistant to work in Blackburn. The role is for a full academic year starting in September 2020 until July 2021; however it may continue dependent on funding.

We are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant for a school situated on the outskirts of Blackburn. This multi-faith primary school is a 1.5 form entry Ofsted rated good school. The school aims to work in partnership with parents to ensure all students are achieving the best they can in a high-quality learning environment. All staff at the school share the ambition and drive to keep improving the school and encouraging pupils to achieve the best results they can and enjoy their time in School.

The Headteacher provides clear leadership. She has high ambitions for the school and equally high expectations of all staff. Teamwork is strong across the school and everybody works together. The school has strong links with parents, carers and the local community. Behaviour in the school is outstanding, and students are respectful of each other and of the adults in the school. The staff all work together to provide a caring, nurturing environment in which their learners will be supported to achieve their potential.

The school is based in Blackburn and has excellent motorway links and is easily accessible by public transport with a bus stop within a few minutes' walk from the school.

This primary school is looking for a confident, friendly and flexible SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1-1 with a child within their Year 1 class. The successful candidate must have excellent behaviour management, a good knowledge of the National Curriculum and have prior experience of supporting children with challenging behaviour, ADHD and Autism.

The role itself will involve both working within the schools year 1 class and also in the nurture room, supporting a boy with complex needs on a 1-1 basis. There may be some personal care required from time to time.

To join us and be successful in this Teaching Assistant role you will need to:
* Hold a L2 or above Teaching Assistant or equivalent qualification
* SEN experience including ADHD, Autism
* This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
* Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
* You must have the legal right to work in the UK
