Teaching Assistant, Full-time- Primary Phase

We are recruiting! Are you an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for your next role in Bristol?

We are currently working in partnership with a mainstream primary school in Bristol who are looking to appoint an experienced TA for a SEN-based role starting in September '21. Ideally having an NVQ Level 2 (or higher) would be desired but extensive experience with no specific qualifications will be considered. This is a full-time (Mon - Fri, 8:30 - 3:30), long-term role fixed until July 2021. The role is likely to be extended to a permanent contract upon completion of the fixed term for the right member of staff. This is a term-time only role.

This primary school have a new Headteacher who is looking to improve the school so have high expectations of both staff and pupils. They are a Thrive Approach School, and this will be an important part of the role.

We are looking for:

  • An enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to facilitate the Thrive practitioners already employed
  • Experience working within a primary school
  • Minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent is desired but not essential
  • Someone to be available and reactive to support regulation of a high number of pupils across the school, this is currently being completed by the HT and/or teaching phase leads impacting upon other strategic roles which must be completed
  • Someone to support, encourage and facilitate play at break and lunchtimes, as we are active participants of the OPAL project

You will be expected to support the teacher with daily classroom activities and provide opportunities to make a difference to the pupils learning.
