Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment is hiring a Teaching Assistant who is looking to work 1:1 with a student in KS1 to join a Primary school based in Greenwich for a start after the October Half term 2020. This position is for a full time long term contract that will be through till July 2021 and if funding continues then the contract will be extended. The rate will be based on experience and qualifications between £70-85 per day.

Since converting to an academy in February 2015, this school has gone from strength to strength. This is borne out by the above national achievement in Early Years, Year 1 phonics, KS1 and KS2 tests. They are proud of how well each of the children achieved last year and plan to build on the many successes this year. This school is not only quickly becoming a school which promotes excellence in educational outcomes; but they're also an inclusive school where every child is encouraged and supported to realise their full potential.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children with severe difficulties and has experience with medical needs. A candidate that has a knowledge in communication needs as well would be desirable.

Tradewind are looking for:
- A Teaching Assistant who has a soft caring approach.
- A candidate that can will liaise with SENCo and parents to provide the very best care.
- A person that is comfortable on their feet for long periods and is up for the physical demands.

This Primary School is based in the Royal Borough of Greenwich in the Woolwich area, parking is available on site as well as on the road outside school. Many bus routes stop locally to the school as well. The train station is under a 10 minute walk.

To join us and be successful in this Teaching Assistant role you will need to:

- Hold a Teaching Assistant Qualification such as CACHE, SEN Qualification or have at least 1 year of experience working with SEN
- References that cover at least 6 months of child based work within the past 2 years.
- This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
- Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
- You must have the legal right to work in the UK
