Responsibilities:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students and teachers in the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Assisting teachers in delivering engaging lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  2. Providing one-on-one support to students, helping them with their academic progress and addressing any challenges they may face.
  3. Supervising students during activities, ensuring their safety and promoting positive behaviour.
  4. Assisting with classroom management, including setting up resources and materials for lessons.
  5. Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
  6. Providing feedback to teachers on student performance and progress.
  7. Promoting inclusivity and fostering a supportive and respectful atmosphere within the classroom.
  8. Being a positive role model for students, encouraging their personal and academic development.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you should meet the following requirements:

  1. Previous child-based experience is essential. This could include experience as a Teaching Assistant, tutor, mentor, or any other relevant role.
  2. A valid and enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the update service is mandatory.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and build rapport.
  4. Passion for education and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
  5. Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in a dynamic classroom environment.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
  7. A degree or equivalent qualification is desirable, making this position an excellent opportunity for recent graduates interested in pursuing a career in education.
