This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact to students who have SEMH or complex life circumstances.

As a SEN teaching assistant, you will be responsible for working with a pupil on a 1:1 basis aiding them with the educational opportunities available to them. Patience, adaptability, experience supporting emotional regulation and flexible thinking will be key to success in this role.

For this role we are looking for:

· An experienced teaching assistant who has worked with children with SEMH and with the national curriculum

· Experience using behaviour techniques within a classroom

· A proactive team player, who is flexible and friendly

· Someone who is confident providing 1:1 support and facilitating small groups

· Someone to help children understand instructions through repetition and rephrasing

· Ability to de-escalate pupil outbursts/behavioural issues

Based in Hackney, this Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' PRU caters for around pupils who have found themselves out of mainstream education. This could be because of Special Educational Needs or complex life circumstances. The school prides itself on assessing each individual pupil to tailor the best support programme for every pupil.
