THE ROLE
You'll be working in conjunction with a general class TA and an experienced year 4 teacher in the overall running of the class. Your main priority will be with a little girl in year 4 diagnosed with ASD (high functioning), she's lovely but is non-verbal so needs help with communication. PECS and Makaton are written into the child's EHCP. If you're unsure of what PECS and Makaton are the school are offering training sessions to upskill the right candidates; they are non-verbal forms of communication.

All candidates that apply for this role must have experience as a Teaching Assistant and a familiarity with the key stage 2 curriculum

The position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas police Clearances and professional reference checks. Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained.
