With 100 students on the roll, aged 7 - 19 years of age, the school meets the educational needs of young people with a range of learning difficulties including moderate to severe and complex learning needs, speech, language and communication difficulties.

We are seeking proactive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join the team, supporting teachers with a semi-formal and P-Scale targeted curriculum. Experience with nonverbal students, sensory exploration and Attention Autism training is highly desired in this position. All students at this school are mobile and the school does not cater to Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. This position is working with a Key Stage 3 class of 7 pupils with complex needs. All students will require support with communication and some students require support with personal cares. This role is for an immediate start and for the right candidate may continue into the new academic year.

The school places a big focus on individualised and personal learning approaches for each student. Teaching Assistants work with the multidisciplinary team and collaborate to ensure each child is supported holistically. Self-esteem and self-confidence building are key development areas for all pupils and central to this is the cultivation of communication and interaction skills. Staff engage a wide variety of teaching approaches in line with students learning styles. Most classes will have an emphasis on learning by doing and lots of opportunities for repetition. Through highly structured learning activities, differentiation and individualised support, all students are expected to meet their individual learning objectives.

The Teaching Assistant would:
*Have experience working in an SEN School environment and a strong understanding of complex needs (highly desired)
*Differentiate lessons according to individual students' abilities and needs
*Support communication by using technology and non-verbal techniques
*Work closely with the Classroom Teacher and the Multi-Disciplinary Team
*Be comfortable and confident to support students with personal cares.
