We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in Leyland. This is a long-term to permanent role to start ASAP with a daily rate of £76.89 - £80.89 per day.

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant at the Primary Pupil Referral Unit your primary responsibility will be to support pupils with complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs. This position offers a unique chance to make a difference in the lives of pupils who require additional support due to complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

The school has been rated 'Outstanding' by OFSTED and is commissioned by the Lancashire Education Authority and specialises in providing full-time education for primary pupils from Reception to Year 6 (4 to 11 years old) who have been permanently excluded from schools across Preston, Leyland, and Chorley. The school is dedicated to offering a supportive and nurturing environment where these pupils can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

• Relevant experience working with primary-aged pupils, particularly those with social, emotional, and behavioural needs (preferred but not essential).
• A passion for supporting and empowering pupils to reach their full potential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
• CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
