We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide support for pupils with additional needs. The position will start after Christmas and may run into the next academic year, providing a great opportunity for the right candidate to make a significant contribution to the development of our students.

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting students with a range of additional needs, including those with physical, emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will work closely with the class teacher and other members of the team to provide individual and group support for our students, helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children with additional needs, and will be able to provide compassionate and effective support in a busy classroom environment. You will be patient, understanding and able to build strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing support for students with additional needs, both individually and in small groups
  • Working with the class teacher and other members of the team to plan and deliver activities and interventions to support the development of students
  • Monitoring the progress of individual students and reporting on progress to the class teacher and SENCo
  • Supporting students with personal care needs, where required
  • Assisting with administrative tasks, such as record keeping and lesson preparation

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience of working with children with additional needs
  • A caring and compassionate approach to supporting students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
