Are you a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in education? Tradewind, a leading teaching agency, is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to work in a Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) on a long-term basis in Preston, Lancashire. This role offers a unique chance to make a positive impact on the lives of young people who may not have access to mainstream education.

Our partner school is a Secondary Alternative Provision School, offering full-time education for up to 110 pupils who, for various reasons, are not able to access mainstream educational provision. The school is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for its students. With an OFSTED rating of 'Good,' you'll be joining a team committed to delivering high-quality education and support.

Role Details:

Position: Teaching Assistant (TA)

Location: Secondary PRU in Preston, Lancashire

Contract: Long-term basis

Daily Rate of Pay: £76.89 - £80.89

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students in various subjects.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging lessons.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support students with their emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure students' progress and development.

Our partner school offers state-of-the-art facilities to support both students and staff. These include:

  • 2 Science laboratories
  • Hair and beauty room
  • Modern, fully equipped food technology kitchen
  • Sports hall and gym
  • Design and technology (DT) room

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is preferred.
  • A passion for working with students who may face additional challenges in their education.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
