Full time Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment are working closely with a school in the Rotherham area catering to children aged 7 - 11 with complex emotional and social needs, many of whom have a diagnosis of Autism.
We are seeking an experienced and nurturing Classroom assistant to work within classes of no more than 8 or 9 students at a time. The role will include supporting pupils with all aspects of the curriculum as well as nurturing pupils emotional and social skills and is to start as soon as possible.
Enrichment activities feature heavily in the curriculum to help to engage the pupils, these involve music, art and activities taking place outside of the classroom such as gardening and animal care. There is an expectation that the appointed person will also support students with these activities.
The successful person should have experience supporting children with complex needs and be confident dealing with challenging behaviour. A Team Teach qualification or similar would be highly beneficial although this is something we can support with.
A Teaching assistant qualification would be beneficial to this role but not essential as prior experience in a similar setting is most important.

Pay £60 - £85 per day

To join us and be successful in this Full time Intervention teaching assistant role you will need to:
Previous experience of closing the attainment gap in either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.
Experience working on a one to one basis with children with additional needs

This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable and professional reference checks.
Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history, where possible, and any employment breaks must be explained.
You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
